DOING YOUR BEST

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

Ecclesiastes 9:10

We are living in the days where mediocrity is the norm. Most people will do just enough to get by. However, the above Scripture lets us know that we have to do our best. When you start something, be determined to give it your best; be determined to finish what you have started well.

You could be writing a book, preparing to run a marathon or composing a song, whatever project you might be involved in, be determined to stay with it and finish what you have started. Do it with excellence and to excel means to exceed expectations, to go the extra mile or to be above average. To excel means high performance.

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24

There is a reward for every good work that the Lord wants you to do. When you engage in God’s work, it is never in vain. Therefore, be determined to stay with it and do it with excellence. Never give up, because your work can make great impact, particularly when you do it with excellence.

You can be a difference maker, a pace setter and a world changer as you pursue the things that God wants you to do with excellence. Therefore, put some effort in all that you do. You only live once and opportunities rarely come by. So, when you get an opportunity, by all means go all out and do your best.

I returned and saw under the sun that – the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

Ecclesiastes 9:11

Thought of the day: I have to do my best when an opportunity to succeed arises.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the opportunities that you give me to succeed in life, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

STRENGTHEN YOURSELF IN THE LORD

Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 Things could be going wrong all around you, challenges everywhere, and negative thoughts attacking your mind even to a point of depression. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself and wallowing up in depression, stand up and strengthen yourself in the Lord. PURSUE YOUR PURPOSE

See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 1 Corinthians 5:15 Pursue your purpose. Your purpose is both good for you and for all. Your purpose fulfills you and meets others’ needs. Your purpose makes you happy and solves other people’s problems. Your purpose is what you do best. It entails your gifts and passion. Your purpose is necessary. Your purpose is what you were born to do. You do not have to be anyone else you can be yourself and fulfill your purpose in life. So, run your own race.
