ASK ACCORDING TO GOD’S WILL

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

1 John 5:14

If you are going to have answered prayers you will have to ask according to God’s will, and that means in line with His Word. God’s Word reveals God’s will for your life, therefore, if it’s in the Word, you can ask for it.

When I was in high school a certain prophet from the U.S. came to our school and prophesied to me and after that meeting one of my teachers said to other students, “If the prophet did not prophecy to you and you want what he prophesied to someone else, you can say, ‘God, I want the same thing.’” That couldn’t be further from the truth, because that would be covetousness.

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5

You cannot ask God for something that belongs to someone that would be covetousness, that is not God’s will. You cannot ask God for someone else’s spouse, car, house, position, etc. Sure, you can be inspired by someone else’s faith and believe God for more, however, do not ask for something that belongs to someone else.

Healing, provision, protection, and deliverance are in God’s Word, they are God’s will for your life. You can start by asking for the likes. You ask for what God has already provided for through the finished work of Jesus Christ. You ask for what God has made available through the work of the cross.

When you ask according to God’s will, you have your petition, you have answered prayer. You have your answer when you ask, whether you continue to ask until it is in your possession or you continue to thank God for it, you have your answer and it will manifest.

And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

1 John 5:15

WAGE WAR WITH PROPHECY

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare. 1 Timothy 1:18 If you have a prophecy spoken over your life it is time for warfare. It is time to wage war with your prophecy. Take the prophecy spoken over you and put it in your mouth. Speak the same prophecy over your life. Agree with God. Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3 Speak the same things with God. That is faith, faith speaks the same things with God and we overcome by our faith. Faith will put you over and it will make you an overcomer. Use your faith to wage war. And whatever is born of God overcomes the world. GOD REWARDS RIGHTEOUS LIVING

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me. 2 Samuel 22:21 Righteousness according to the Old Testament is righteous living. However, in the New Testament we have received the righteousness which is by faith in Jesus Christ. When David in the Old Testament said that the LORD rewarded him according to his righteousness, he is essentially saying that the LORD rewarded him for his righteous living. Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Isaiah 3:10 The above Scripture would then mean: “Say to those who live righteously that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.” God rewards righteous living. It doesn’t matter where you find yourself right now, if you would continue living righteously, living according to God’s Word sooner than later your life would begin to change. You can turn things around as you live righteously.
