PRAY FOR YOUR CITY

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

Proverbs 11:11

As a child of God, you can pray for your city and bless your city. You can effect changes in your city with your prayers. Don’t just sit and watch things get out of hand in your city but pray and bless your city.

God can change things in your city. However, He is waiting for you to pray. God will be moved when you are moved to pray. If you want God to interfere in the affairs your city, then pray and bless your city.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If you will pray for your city, God will intervene. Your prayers make the difference! Don’t focus on the negative things that are happening in your city, don’t entertain them, don’t spread them. Focus on what God can do and what God is doing in your city and magnify them.

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies, according to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses.

Isaiah 63:7

Mention only what God is doing and not what the enemy is doing in your city. Keep praying for your city and speak well of your city. See your city changing and see your city in a positive light. When you pray and bless your city, it will change.

Your prayers are making a difference. Your prayers are not in vain, don’t give up on prayer, but continue fervently in prayer for your city until God does something. In every city you live in as a child of God, it is your responsibility to pray for it.

…The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

James 5:16b 

Thought of the day: As a child of God it is my responsibility to pray for my city.

WAGE WAR WITH PROPHECY

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare. 1 Timothy 1:18 If you have a prophecy spoken over your life it is time for warfare. It is time to wage war with your prophecy. Take the prophecy spoken over you and put it in your mouth. Speak the same prophecy over your life. Agree with God. Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3 Speak the same things with God. That is faith, faith speaks the same things with God and we overcome by our faith. Faith will put you over and it will make you an overcomer. Use your faith to wage war. And whatever is born of God overcomes the world. GOD REWARDS RIGHTEOUS LIVING

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me. 2 Samuel 22:21 Righteousness according to the Old Testament is righteous living. However, in the New Testament we have received the righteousness which is by faith in Jesus Christ. When David in the Old Testament said that the LORD rewarded him according to his righteousness, he is essentially saying that the LORD rewarded him for his righteous living. Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Isaiah 3:10 The above Scripture would then mean: “Say to those who live righteously that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.” God rewards righteous living. It doesn’t matter where you find yourself right now, if you would continue living righteously, living according to God’s Word sooner than later your life would begin to change. You can turn things around as you live righteously.
